First off, let me say that all these thoughts were going through my head this morning. How did you know?
So I had a conversation with an old high school friend. He was always so sweet, funny, smart so I decided to say hi to him & see what he's been up to.
Much to my surprise, he hasn't changed!! He's still that nice guy I remember. It was so nice to know. So we chatted for a long time. I told him that I was so glad he hadn't changed and he said he felt the same way that I was still the same.
I was so glad to know that because my biggest fear is that I've lost touch with ME. The truth is, I haven't but everything around me has. So I know enough is enough. Time to get with the program & stop dwelling on that old self you used to love. It's time to make it happen.
Therefore, I love rule#1 people need to start being who they are & forget about what others might think. If you try to be someone you're not, you're only lying to yourself. Nobody likes hanging around people like that.
Rule #4 is something I need to work on. That truly resonated with me & the advice touched close to home. I used to just have fun & roll with the punches & lately I feel like I'm afraid to take risks. I need to follow my own advice though & start doing the things I want to do because I won't know unless I take that risk.
Rule #6 Get rid of crap!! I didn't know that was a rule but I did notice that doing it relieves some kind of pressure off you. I've always done that when I start feeling depressed. It's like I start cleaning house to get rid of all the negative energy & it truly works. I highly recommend this!
Rule #7 is another we all need to work on. Today's world is filled with being "ON" all the time. Whether that be online, at work, at home. We carry phones with us 24/7. We need to stay away from all those things & just sit back & enjoy nature. Being busy is only a frame of mind. If you take even 10 minutes away to destress, you'll feel like you took a mini vacation!
#8 about starting something is all about taking that 1st step. I've always told me that the 1st step is the hardest. Once you do it, you're green! So this one is for Party of 3...JUST DO IT!
This was another great post!! I really liked it and I do hope to implement the 8 principles of fun. :)
Im on my way: -Im trying not to take things so seriously all the time. -Im trying to do things that I want to do....its about damn time I say! lol -I hate being busy already, not fun. *Now I just have to work in the other principles.....oh yea and do not follow the rules all the time lol
I really liked the quote from Elbert Hubbard, "Do not take life too seriously. You will not get out of it alive." Very true and I think this will be another one of my favorite quotes lol
