It's a brand new year full of unlimited possibilities!  What are you most looking forward to this year?  Do you follow your New Year's resolutions?  I have NEVER followed my resolutions & in addition to really looking forward to spending more time with friends & family...I want to watch Underworld: Awakening  on Jan 20, 2012:

BEST Cities for New Grads

I often hear about grads who can't find a job in their respective fields.  Living in a town & age where jobs are very scarce, it's important for new grads to know where the best cities are.  I found this neat list on MSN Careers.

However, the cheapest on there is Cleveland with an average 1 bedroom apartment rent of $695.  That's pretty stiff for a new grad unless of course, the new grad is making a pretty penny.  The question is, are there jobs pertaining to your career path?  See for yourself!  Cleveland is not an ugly site to visit either. ;)

Ask.Tell.

I typically am not awake early enough to watch the news & if I am, I find more important things to do with my time. However, this morning I woke up early & decided to watch some tv. Untortunately, the best thing on tv was the news! :( The saddest part of all that was that the most interesting piece of news was the U.S. Military.

The pentagon is dropping the "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding U.S. Military service members. If you ask me, it's been a long time coming. It's about time the military moved into the 21st century!

In other news:

Tonight on Dancing with the Stars, Brooke Burke will be formerly known as Brooke Charvet Now, I don't follow DWTS but I found it interesting that Brooke's family & friends are split 50/50 with her decision to change her name. What's it to them? Sure, she's well known as Brooke Burke but anyone who follows her will know her new last name. I think the reason it was interesting to me is that my sisters have been giving me a hard time about my married name for a while now. They even tease that I'm no longer ______ (my maiden name). Seriously?! I can't believe name changes are still a big issue today. :P

Also, a Titanic Necklace was stolen from the Danish exhibit. A $1,380 reward has been offered. I guess there really isn't much to say about this other than I hope whoever stole it, gets caught! It's definitely an important part of history & anyone dumb enough to try to make $ off of it deserves to get caught.

Let me introduce you...

to a little something called LTA Move Club! Ok, so I've been doing this movie club thing since it started a couple of months ago. Basically people post movies that we as a "group" should watch and then certain movies are chosen for that week that you should watch; Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Anyway, you can watch the movie and add your comment or video opinion of the movie or like me just watch the reviews. So far I have seen quite a few movies that I've never seen and have come to love. In fact this is how I was introduced to some awesome freaken shows.... BSG and Dr Who. Anyway, check it out if you got time to kill. Enjoy. :)

This weeks schedule:
9/12: Fellowship of the Ring
9/14: Food, Inc.
9/16: Silence of the Lambs

PS: Yes, of course I had to mention it now that they had the LOTR's as one of the movies. :P

09/11/2011

*Be forewarned video is extremely graphic*

I don't have much to say since I wrote about this day in great detail last year. But I can say that, I cannot believe it has been ten years since that horrible morning when I first heard about the planes hitting the towers. I have said it before and I will say it again; this day has forever been burned into my memory.

Never forget the innocent lives that were lost years ago or the ones lost trying to bring justice to them.

Remembering...10yrs ago

I've been thinking of the best way to start this blog but the truth of the matter is that there simply isn't one.

10 yrs ago every single one of us remembers exactly where we were & what we were doing when we heard the horrible news that forever changed our lives.

No matter what else is going on in the world these days or even in our own lives, 9/11 is engraved in our memories.  We should feel very lucky to NOT be a part of the group of people who lost family, friends & loved ones that day.  We need to remember that our lives could be worse & that in the blink of an eye it could ALL change.

Take today to treasure every moment, truly appreciate your loved ones, do the things that make you happy & proud, be kind, compassionate, caring, & best of all forgiving. The hatred won't stop unless you end it.

In loving memory of the fallen heroes, friends, & family at ground zero that morning. We will forever remember you, have you in our hearts, & your family in our prayers.

Blue bodies....

Hi everyone!
I hope you are all doing well. So I know it's not my day to post but I didn't get a chance to do so on my assigned days....due to the city wide power outage on Thursday and being exhausted on Friday. :/ However I did want to kind of talk about one of the many creepy dreams I had this week.

So as you guys read Thursday we had a city wide power outage. The first thing that came to mind was "ZOMBIES!!" I somehow have this sick and twisted fear/fascination with zombies...idk. lol So the weird thing was that on Thursday morning I woke up from a very creepy dream. So in my dream I was walking down this long hallway in what seemed like it was an old hospital or huge school. So apparently in my dream I was looking for a restroom. I come across a room and I go inside because I think it's the restroom. Once inside the first thing I see is that this room is huge and spacious and there are a bunch of huge long metal sinks with blueish, yellowish liquid in them. I look around and see no one in the room. I start walking down the metal spiral staircases to get to the ground floor where the sinks are since when you walk into the room you are at the top of the staircases. Everything is quiet, too quiet. When I get to the bottom of the staircase this guy comes running out of nowhere and is demanding to know what I am doing there and as he is running he slips and falls into one of the "sinks." He finally gets out and I ask him if he is "okay" but he just tells me "you can't be here! If the doctor sees you he is going to go Crazy! You have to get out of here NOW"

While the guy is yelling/telling me to get out because of a psycho-doctor I notice something out of the corner of my eye and turn my head to the left. Much to my surprise I see three bodies laying in three "sinks." At first I think that these people that came out of nowhere were sleeping but then realize that they are not and are in fact dead. I see that they all have a blue hue to their skin and some are missing limbs. At this point feeling a sicking feeling in my stomach and turn to face the guy and realize that there is another one of those bodies in front of me. However this one is standing, just staring at me with the most menacing look anyone has ever given me. The guy that was telling me to get out continued to warn me about the doctor and told me to go "now" but to not make much noise since the doctor's office was upstairs close to the staircase. As you can imagine I start freaking out and feel like I am going to faint, puke, have a panic attack/anxiety attack/heart attack all at once. I run up the stairs as quietly as I can while the evil dead-man body is still staring at me when I see that the doctor is moving around in his office getting ready to come down to the ground floor. Lucky for me the blinds in his officer were drawn so he didn't see me. I run up to the top of the stairs, out the doors and I keep running until I make it outside of the building. When I finally make it outside and the sun hits my face that's when I wake up....

I don't know why this dream was so unsettling for me but it is amazing that I still remember considering that I forget everything and I dreamed this horrendous dream a couple of days ago. That just goes to show you that I only remember the bad/scary dreams.....how come I never remember the good ones?! Sorry for taking up so much blogging space but I just wanted to let this out and see what you guys think about it.

Have you guys ever had such a creepy/unsettling dream/nightmare that you can't forget about?

I really hope that you have a wonderful day without blue creepy bodies staring at you!

Namaste,
Steph

Posted on my assigned post day...?

Why helloooooo!!

Well finally I post something....and on my assigned day! :) yay it took me how long? Anywho I decided to post something before I get sucked into the work/school/work/school routine.

How is everyone doing? Here is hoping that all is well. You know the other day I had such a great idea for a blog post but then I forgot to come on here and post it.....and as it should be I forgot what it was in the first place.

What has everyone been up to lately? Me? Well work, and beginning this week it is school....oy! But good news is that practically after this semester we will just have our practicum beginning January to May and in the summer of 2012 we begin Internship....WOOT WOOT!! A few little hurdles to get through in the mean time. For example our Professor already told us that this semester is "possible the hardest one" and then in April we have to take the NCE which is the National Counselor Exam (I believe) basically it is the exam that will dictate whether we can get our LAC which is the Licensed Associate Counselor (license) so that we can start internship and then after 2 years we can apply to get the big honcho license that says we can do therapy on our own without supervision. This semester and next I forsee a very stressful and busy time....but I am praying that it will all be worth it, I know it will. Work has actually been very, VERY busy and interesting these last couple of weeks. If it's not one thing it's another that is happening.

With that being said I have to say this: I miss my friends!! :( We hardly ever get to see each other anymore and that breaks my heart. I propose we make a time to see each other at least once every month. What do you girls think? :) Once again I hope all is well!

Namaste,
Steph :)

Hall Pass - D, It's a waste of time!

I rented Hall Pass on Monday because I thought it'd be hilarious but I have to say that I was dissapointed. There weren't any memorable laugh out loud funny moments.

It's supposed to be about these guys who get a week off from marriage to do whatever they want. They want to cheat on their wives but they have a hard time doing it because they don't know where to start since they've been out of the single scene for so long. Then they come close to it but they realize that they're in love with their wives so they return home.

I thought the situations they would get into would be funny but the funniest part of this movie is the part in the previews when they end up in Applebee's to pick up girls. So, unless you want to waste your time, don't watch it.

Breaking Dawn...

I guess we've all been kind of busy with real life. That is a good thing...right? My serious overtime should call for some interesting gossip at the very least. lol After all, you have got to love the haters & in the wise words of the Dalai Lama "We should value our enemies because they provide us with unique opportunities to practice patience, tolerance and forbearance." ;)

However I didn't come here to talk about the haters...I just simply wanted to point out that I was terribly disappointed with the Breaking Dawn trailer! It simply didn't catch my attention. Is it just me? See for yourself.

Ever wondered...

...if a book is even worth reading?  Check out Goodreads.com. It's a site where other people read & rate books.  I just began using it & I love it! I have read enough books to make a huge list. However, with as many as those are, I can never quite remember what genre or recommendation I give or when I read it.  :(

With goodreads, I can rate them and forever store that data on my profile. That way next time a friend asks me about the book, I can just tell them. If you decide to try it, add me and we'll exchange book reviews. ;)  The best part is that you can post those reviews straight into your blog!  How awesome is that?!

It has soooo much information on there that is really helpful.....says me of course lol. The website is http://tinybuddha.com/ please go on there and check it out if its something you fancy of course.

If you did happen to check it out, what did you think about it? :)

Peace, take care and until next time!

Tangled - B

For all the Disney fans, this movie is super cute! Mandy Moore is great as the lost princess. She is definitely a modern version of princess. She turns 18 during the movie not like the many underage & married princesses of the past. Thank goodness for that!  ;)

Back to the movie, the princess is stolen at birth and lives with her "mother" in a tower secluded from everyone else & unable to leave. On her 18th birthday she wants nothing more than to see the lanterns released only on her birthday. However, when her mom forbids her from seeing the lanterns.

So, when a male stumbles upon her tower, she makes a deal with him that she'll return his bag (of stolen goods) in exchange for him to take her to see the lanterns.

Just Go With It - A

Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler are hilarious in this.  It is a romantic comedy about a guy who finds the woman of his dreams. The problem is that his "thing" has been to pretend to be married to hook up with girls. So, when the woman of his dreams discovers the ring in his pocket, he panicks and tells her he's getting a divorce. She doesn't buy it and asks to hear it from his wife.

Desperate to continue a relationship with her, he enlists the help of his receptionist (Aniston). Things get complicated when Aniston accidentally answers a call from her kids in front of the woman.  Sandler then enlists the help of Aniston's kids in order to pretend to have a family and before you know it, they are all taking a trip to Hawaii together!

This movie is hilarious. I highly recommend it!

Red Riding Hood - B

Everyone knows that I was super excited to go see Red Riding Hood. I love Amanda Siegfried and while I also did love the movie, it wasn't as action packed as the preview showed & I was able to guess who the wolf was from the beginning.  :(  So, if you're one of those good guessers (like me), I'd probably recommend that you wait til it comes out on DVD.

Residential Security Survey

I don't know how many of you are aware of this service being offered but I figured it doesn't hurt to do it.  :)  The residential security survey is a free public service offered to all the residents of the City of Yuma.

The City of Yuma website states:

Yuma Police Department's Public Affairs Unit will have an officer come to your home and conduct a Security Survey and Analysis of not only your home but the property and adjacent buildings as well...the Officer will explain the areas that were checked and make suggestions on how to improve those areas needing improvement. The officer will also give the resident a coupon entitling them to a 10% discount on the selected items from The Home Depot hardware store.

Residents who reside outside the City of Yuma are asked to please contact their local law enforcement agency.

YHS on Lockdown

Don't know if you read my tweet on YHS being on lockdown yesterday but I kept following it cuz my little sis was at school when it happened. They were there for hours & I had to keep updating mom & younger sis (who was supposed to go pick baby sis up) while trying to get work done & translating for a poor little old man who needed help on something unrelated to us at work.  It was craziness!

Anyway, here's the full news report.

Send No Flowers by Sandra Brown

Alicia is a widow who's playing the role of both parents to her boys. She goes out to a friend's cabin for a family vacation but discovers that the weather has cut off the power to the cabin. With no flashlight she tries to restore the power when she encounters a man in the shadows, Pierce.

At first she's reluctant to let him help her but she has no choice. To protect herself & her boys she tells Pierce that she's married & her husband will join them at any moment but as the weather worsens, she's stuck sharing Pierce's cabin. Her boys love the idea of it & being boys, share the fact that NOBODY is coming to join them.  YIKES!  Alicia & her boys become attached to Pierce but even though Pierce loves her boys, he makes sure to keep his distance from her because of a secret that could potentially hurt her.

You would think that as romance novels go, it would be an all around happy story but it truly isn't.  It was so sad it had me crying! Maybe I'm just a sap but it's still a good read & you won't be dissappointed!

I discovered today though that Send No Flowers is the sequel to Breakfast in Bed which I haven't yet read & am not sure I want to go backwards.  :(  It seems pretty interesting though so I might just read the beginning of this story. It can't hurt to get the full picture, right? lol

Bones on Netflix, Hangover 2, Red Riding Hood

Have you tried Netflix?  What rating would you give it?  I'm going to give it a trial run by checking out my sister's but I want to know if it's worth it before I commit to it. lol

The only real reason I'm going to give it a try is because I get to watch all 5 seasons of Bones!  I don't know how far I'll get but at least it would get me caught up with the beginning that I never watched. Is anyone else a Bones fan?

Also, did you know The Hangover 2 is in the making?  I want to watch!  ;)  Almost as much as I want to watch Red Riding Hood; looks sooo good!  Check out the movie preview below! ;)

Have a wonderful day!

The Monkey

Today is a great day for a joke so here it goes:

The Monkey

A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink, and while he's drinking, the monkey jumps all around the place. The monkey grabs some olives off the bar and eats them, then grabs some sliced limes and eats them, then jumps onto the pool table, grabs one of the billiard balls, sticks it in his mouth, and to everyone's amazement, somehow swallows it whole.

The bartender screams at the guy, "Did you see what your monkey just did?"

The guy says "No, what?"

"He just ate the cue ball off my pool table! He swallowed it whole!"
"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replied the guy, "He eats everything in sight, the little bastard. Sorry. I'll pay for the cue ball and stuff."
He finishes his drink, pays his bill, pays for the stuff the monkey ate, then leaves.

Two weeks later he's in the bar again, and has his monkey with him. He Orders a drink and the monkey starts running around the bar again. While the man is finishing his drink, the monkey finds a maraschino cherry on the bar. He grabs it, sticks it up his ass, pulls it out, and eats it.

Then the monkey finds a peanut, and again sticks it up his ass, pulls it out, and eats it.

The bartender is disgusted. "Did you see what your monkey did now?" he asks.

"No, what?" replies the guy.

"Well, he stuck a maraschino cherry and a peanut up his ass, pulled them out, and ate em!" said the bartender.

"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replied the guy. "He still eats everything in sight, but ever since he had to shit out that cue ball, he measures everything first."

Documentary Style?

I have no clue what this style of movie is really called but I really don't like it at all! I'm referring to the style of movie used in the film The Blair Witch Project & Paranormal Activity. I understand that it is done to give the film a more realistic nature but I don't think it does. I can't stress how much I truly hate it! lol

I watched the movie The Last Exorcism & it is filmed as if it were a documentary on the gospel preaching guy who fakes exorcisms & what not. Then the movie gets all screwy & bad crap happens. Can't really reveal much else if you're planning on watching it but I can say, they used a mix of horror movie drama. In the end, you're left wondering if the girl really was possesed or not.

The Virginity Hit was also the same style & very BORING!!!  I don't know what the appeal of the movie was but all I can say is, I took it out b4 I lost some brain cells!

I give both of these 2 big thumbs down!

Which was your fav?

I didn't watch the Super Bowl yesterday like a lot of people did. In fact I was at Starbucks with @Stephluvscoffee getting coffee and then heading to Sephora. :p Anyway, I did however watch all of the new commercials. Did you guys?

I think some of favorites have to be the creepy Doritos commercial, the tire commercial with the beaver, the VW Beetle commercial, and the NFL commercial. Check out all the commercials here and let me know which one was your fav. FYI there were like sixty-three in total so ya. LOL.

Long Week...is it over?

I've had a super duper busy week & it apparently it's going to spill over into next week! ARGGH!  So sorry for not posting yesterday.  :) That said, many of you already know I had jury duty on Tues. which was pretty much waiting around all day long. However, am I crazy for actually enjoying it??

Not only was it a change of pace & something out of the ordinary, it was almost like an awakening. We were waiting for our court bailiff in the jury assembly room & I thought to myself, "most people are nervous just being here. I'm just looking forward to going through the process without getting too bored." lol  Then, our bailiff (a female) came to get us which I thought was weird b/c I usually see male bailiffs & low & behold, she's someone I went to school with. :)

Then it ocurred to me..."this is where I belong!" I could actually see myself walking those halls...Crazy right?! It even surprised me a little but then when I thought about it I realized that my passion has always been to help out in the quest for human injustice, fairness & equal rights. So, if I can't (due to lack of time & children) at the moment be a lawyer, I could be a court bailiff.  :)

The problem is, I'm not looking forward to the extra expense of returning to school! After all, we already more than likely have to get another vehicle! :(  We'll see how it goes but have you had anything like this happen to you? Where you just knew you were on the right path?

8 Health Tests YOU Should Take

Is it just me or are there almost always articles on things women should do for their health but hardly ever what men should do for theirs??  Kind of sad...unless when I see them I'm on "woman" sites or reading "woman" magazines, etc. That's probably it. lol

Anyway, the 8 tests are as follows:
  1. Pap Smear (lucky for all the recent non-virgins out there) requirements have changed from EVERY YEAR to every other year or every 3 yrs. depending on your age.
  2. Breast Exam
  3. Skin Cancer Screening
  4. Hearing Test
  5. Immunization Check
  6. Blood Pressure
  7. Cholesterol Panel
  8. BMI/Weight
I'm pretty sure men can have these tested too...well except for 1 & 2 lol

She's got the Jack...

Ok, maybe not the Jack, but I do got the Ace. Anyway, you're probably thinking what the hell is this dork talking about now???? Well, as I I logged into my email I saw and interesting article on how a simple deck of 52 playing cards can "unlock the personality profile of any person just by knowing the day and month they were born" in. It's supposed this very ancient system called Destiny Cards. Haz I gotz your attenshun???

Maybe or maybe not, but according to this ancient system my birthday lands on the Ace of Clubs. So, apparently I'm "creative and  experience life through talking and learning." As a club I'm supposed to be "curious, always thinking, and love to talk, read and teach" and ideal careers for me would be in teaching, writing, law, and journalism. Also, because I'm an Ace I'm supposed to be "ambitious, active and driven."

Pretty interesting stuff and while it does have some of my characteristics right I don't know how much I believe that just because you are born on a certain day you are more likely to have a certain type of personality. To each his own, though.

Anyway, if you want to check out the article to see what it says about you check it out here:

Your Career is in the Cards (of Destiny)

And just for fun I'll throw in AC/DC's The Jack.

Will SPICE be banned in Arizona?

Last week I posted about an herb called SPICE aka "the new Marijuana".  Monday, there was an article in the paper about lawmakers in Arizona who are supporting HB 2167 which would add the chemicals normally included in SPICE to be under the list of dangerous drugs in Arizona.

The bill has already been sent to the House floor with an emergency clause requiring 3/4 of each house vote which would make it effective immediately upon governor signature. I'm thinking they're going to pass it & I sure hope it will help save some kids' lives if nothing else.

Christopher Michael Cartier

Does anyone know this guy? The paper reported he did a drive by shooting and was arrested for attempted homicide. However, on the streets...I heard that it was the home of his ex-boss & that he did it as a result of his ex-boss firing him. Crazy fool!

Does anyone know if that's the real story? Gossip Central I know. lol I'm just trying to verify the story's credentials since the newspaper NEVER has accurate information.

Hand up!

So, when I was living in Phoenix I used to listen to KUPD all the freaken time! I loved being able to listen to them in my car on my way to work or just driving around town. It sucks that I can't listen to them in my car anymore, but I at least still get to listen to them on the interwebs. :) Anyway, not only are they a kick ass station if you like rock music, but they also like to give back to the community. Thus is were the Fitz's Towel Ops 2011 comes in! Fitz's is looking for people to donate towels to our homeless veterans.

New Marijuana??

On my way home I heard about a new "drug" called Spice which has become the replacement drug for Marijuana. It's actually an incense that has some serious risks including death. This reminds me of an older post I wrote in June 2010 regarding Dusting. Have you heard of either one (Dusting/Spice)? Are teenagers seriously this disturbed this day & age?? It's kind of alarming when you think of the endless possibilites of "new drugs" available in your home. SCARY THOUGHT!

Nevermore

Today was Edgar Allan Poe's birthday. And usually on this day people gather at Poe's grave in Baltimore, Maryland to see if the Poe Toaster will show up. You may be asking yourself what the hell is a Poe Toaster. Well, it was the name given to this guy who since 1949 has paid an annual tribute to Poe's grave marker. This guy shows up in the wee hours of the morning each January 19 and leaves three roses and a partially-filled bottle of French cognac by the grave. Then he just walks off.

Well, the original guy who did this seems to have passed away in 1998 and so the duty was passed on to his son or so people think. Unfortunately, the toaster did not appear this year or last year. Tres sad, I know! There is speculation that this 60 year tradition has finally come to its end. It kinda sucks that the Poe Toaster is nevermore, but at least it does make for some awesome folklore since nobody really knew who this guy was. Had you guys ever heard of the Poe Toaster before?

Criminal Minds Higher Power?

While web surfing, I found this site. Surpirisingly, it pertained to something I'm familiar with & just never knew the whole story. lol  The site is a biography of Treyce, a international handwriting expert who helped write the episode "Higher Power" for Criminal Minds!  :)

Her life story is quite interesting and I would have never imagined it to have been so dramatic & sad!

Mr. King's dream...

keeping it alive! Earlier my friend Lisa posted this comment, "Appreciation on MLK's day for him and all other leaders who courageously believed in change and got up to do something about it!" I couldn't have put it better myself.

PS. Enjoy your day off if you have it off.

I am easily amused...

Just like the title says, I'm seriously easily amused. My sister finds it odd how I can be amused by the stupidest things ever. Anyway, I've been amused for the last twenty minutes with Google Translate. Ya, you can just imagine the stupid things I've typed in and had translated into other languages. Right now I'm playing with translating phrases from English to French. :p

Check it out and have some fun with it if you are procrastinating like me or because you're bored... either or. :P Hope you are having a good Sunday. I'm sooo not looking forward to work tomorrow. Ugh. LOL.

Im a WHAT?!?

You may have heard, or not about our astrological signs changing. Here's a pretty cool article that talks about this particular shift. If you read the article it says that it's not really "new" news after all it all depends on what kind of astrology you (we) follow. Im not gonna get into all the details of the article because you can read it here, just follow the arrow! ->

Based on the this other kind of astrology I am no longer a Sagittarius but I am now a Ophiuchus or Serpentarius <--this totally sounds like a spell from Harry Potter!! I have absolutely no idea what it means to be under this sign.....but as everything I am taking it with a grain of salt. So from now on when someone asks me for my sign I shall say......I am a Serpentarius hahaha j/k Sagittarius! :)

What do you guys think about this?? Yay or nay?

PS: Im sorry for never, ever posting on my days!! I always forget when it's my turn or think of something when it ISN'T my turn....I need to get my days straight! lol

Time of Radical Shift-Age of Aquarius

Since many people are commenting on the Age of Aquarius today due to the latest news, I thought I'd post about it:

I find the whole shift in astrological signs to be quite amazing!  I think it's an interesting new journey; kind of scary but exciting too! Read More & don't forget to check out astrologer, Maurice Fernandez Note!  :)  Good luck to us all & hello to our new...horoscope signs?! lol

Explains quite a bit, no?

What Body Type is sexy?

Yesterday on facebook someone commented on the fact that she wants to loose weight because she's tired of being considered "cute" & wants to go for the "sexy". lol That's a good reason to work out! ;) lol So today while surfing the web I found 2 articles that I thought were interesting.

Article #1: The Best Jeans for EVERY body type
Article #2 What Body Type is Sexy?

That "cute" girl should move to Japan! ;) On a second note, scratch that...her breast size wouldn't be so cute there! lol

Trace Evidence

I forgot to click "Post" on this yesterday! Sorry about that...here it is:

It seems like this week I'm in a solving puzzles & searching for clues mood. lol So, here's Trace Evidence, a neat little game I found on the site to my Stolen Voices Buried Secrets show. It kinds of goes along with Criminologynerd's post on the Virtual Autopsy.

That reminds me...who watched Stolen Voices Buried Secrets? I saw the clips & voted on the next episode but I'm confused as to how the show actually delivers the information.

President Obama: Memorial in Arizona

I was at work when he gave his speech so, for those of you like me who missed and want to watch, I've provided the video. FYI It's thirty minutes long.

I think it's one of his best speeches he's given; very respectful and touching. The end was amazing!

Oh drama!

Update on Ted Williams... apparently he and his daughter got taken to the Hollywood police station on Monday night due to a fight they had with each other.

Stolen Voices...Buried Secrets

"Stolen Voices, Buried Secrets is a true crime show where the murder is told in first person by the victim. The victim is all knowing but never reveals the killer. Instead, viewers must piece together the who-dunnit based on clues from investigators and family/friends." -Investigation Discovery

The show premieres tonight! So, if you're interested in this kind of thing, check it out...I don't have the channel or I would watch it but I will sure catch it online!  ;) The beauty of the internet!  lol

Amazing pictures...

Someone posted a link to photographs from Chernobyl 25 years after a reactor at a nuclear power plant ruptured a vessel causing a fire which sent a plume of radioactive fallout into the atmosphere. The pictures are seriously stunning but not in the "Oh, that's so pretty!" kind of way. You'll understand when you look at the pictures.

Makeup faux pas...

I watched this video by MakeupGeek on Youtube and thought it was hilarious! It's called How to Lose a Guy in 10 Makeup Mistakes. I don't know if these makeup mistakes will truthfully make you loose a guy, but I can tell I have fallen victim to two of the mistakes! :p

Fallen victim to any of these mistakes??? Which ones? Spider eyes and wrong foundation are mine!

The Awesomeness of the interwebs!

I meant to post this yesterday but the stupid site wouldn't work for me. Anyway, it's an awesome story about a homeless man named Ted Williams. I don't know if you guys heard about him yet but here goes. So, Mr. Williams would stand on the side of the road with a sign saying that said he had a good given gift. Turns out it was his awesome voice. His voice is totally made for voice over!

Anyway, a man decided to interview this guy and posted the video on Youtube. Well, as you might imagine the video went viral with over a million views and it was only posted on the third of this month! Because so many people saw the video the man got the recognition he deserved and was offered various jobs from all kinds of places.

How freaken awesome is that!?! I love it when the internet can be used to help out those in need and it certainly did this time. Usually you only get people telling each other to "f" off, but every once in a while, like this time, the people of the internet joined hands and were able to bring to light this person's talent. Stuff like this makes me hopeful, lol.

Anyway, here's the original vid and a news clip about Mr. Williams. Enjoy!

Ted Williams: The Man With the Golden Voice

Super Lazy

Why is it that when we're sick our bodies crave DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING? lol My sore throat is bugging the crap out of me but I hope to completely get rid of it this time around. :P  Obviously my body is fighting the virus & wants to rest to recuperate but I feel so damn lazy! I guess there's just no way around it besides resting huh?

It would suck if I was ever put on bed rest. Even when I was pregnant I was always mobile & picking up things I probably shouldn't have like a loaded laundry basket. lol I remember climbing on the washer/dryer too. I was nuts to some people but I guess I just knew my capabilites/boundaries. lol  Don't worry, it was in the beginning when my belly wasn't big enough to be in the way. Can you imagine that?!

Now I'm just rambling but point is I need ideas for what to do this weekend (since I will obviously be spending it resting) in order to not be bored.  Maybe I should start on that 25 book goal...

I want more!

So we've all agreed that 2010 sucked & we want 2011 to be full of adventure, fun, love, & drama...good drama that is! :) lol What are we planning on doing about it?

Road Trip to SD perhaps for a 3 day weekend or something?  I'd love to go on a Dining Cruise on the Hornblower!

Tell me what you think & let's start planning on it!  :)

2010 in a nutshell!

Gah, I can't believe 2010 is over! Google came out with it's annual "year in review" project detailing the searches of 2010.

I love it! It's insane how much happened throughout the year.

I think for me 2010 was an "eh" year. I don't hate to see it go at all.

Sure, I finally graduated from college and that was excellent. Not to mention I finally got a job, but somehow I feel like in 2010 I didn't have the connection that I used to have with my friends.

The year was filled with about a handful of get togethers' and while they were definitely fun there were far too few. I guess we all just had our own little lives to live and couldn't hang out as much as we would have liked or at least that's how I felt. I hope that doesn't happen again this year or else I'm gonna probably become a permanent shut in and becomes a being that only existed on the interwebs.

I wish you guys the best for this new year. Accomplish everything you want to accomplish and fret not if things don't always come out right. Just remember, shit happens. :P

Bless your faces!
