| Always trying to find my balance. |
This is in response to the Who am I? challenge I posted last week.
1.What's your story?
I don’t know why but the what’s your story question was the one that proved to be the hardest for me to answer. I suppose it’s because I am many things and there are plenty of things that define who I am.
If we are shaped by certain memories that have imprinted themselves on us then I would have to say that following have had the most effect:
Starting off with a downer- molestation. Regardless of the fact that this really f’ing sucked, it has had a great impact because in one way or another I think it has truly influenced what I want to try and prevent in this lifetime. F you, you stupid sick fuck!
On a much brighter note, I remember my grandfather and all the wonderful folkloric stories he told me and my siblings as children. These will forever be some of my most cherished memories. He is in part why I wanted to become an English major. I figure one day I’ll probably write out his stories for him in hope of sharing them with the world.
Another memory that I think makes up my story would have to be the countless adventures I had as a kid living in a small town and growing up in a trailer park. Yep, I was a trailer park kid and because of that and all the experiences I had while growing up there it has enabled my sense of curiosity as an adult.
The last memories I have to address will have to be the ones I made while in high school. These were by far some of the most fun times of life and where I grew up to be; for the most part, the person I am today. I can only attribute this to the crazies who I hung/still hang out with. :P They know they have been a great part of my life and still continue to be… ooh la la too sappy.
2. What are your expectations?
I’m one of those people who’s expectations are super freaken high! I expect to do great things… sure it doesn’t always work out, but regardless I always set my expectations high.
3. What is your purpose?
I would expect my purpose is to do good in this world even if it’s only something small. Any one little thing that we do can have a vast effect on the future al la butterfly effect, no?
For example, what if you do a noble deed that then inspires someone to do something even bigger than that? I think that right there is a pretty awesome purpose for oneself that will benefit many.
4. What is your destination?
When I think of destination I think of where I’ll be when I “grow up.” When I envision that I see myself in a teaching position where I am helping shape the minds of our future generation. I can see myself interacting with college aged people and being able to help them achieve their goals.
5. What is your path?
My path to this will obviously be by working hard and trying to meet those high expectations that I have. There’s a lot of learning to be had to reach this level.
6. Who are your adversaries?
Adversaries? Obviously myself… we are our worst enemies when self doubt comes rolling by to dampen our progress. It would be nice if it never happened but unfortunately for me it happens too often.
7. Who are your allies?
To defeat that horrible adversary (ie. Myself) I have friends who can kick my ass back into reality and tell me to stop being a freaken pansy. :p

I love this!
I have to say, I laughed when you were like, "...too sappy" lol Why are we like that?! I mean, it's how we feel but y do we stop ourselves & say, "Ok too sappy, let's move on!!"? lol Where does that come from?
I'd say mine comes from my childhood & upbringing. My parents were never the sappy, "I love you" sort like I am with my son. lol I probably won't be when he gets older but I truly enjoy it now. lol
I was sitting there wondering if the butterfly effect sense of purpose is what links the 4 of us together...hmmm...u think?
I loved that you said, "when I grow up" lol Aren't you there already?!! lol I guess we will never truly outgrow our young souls but it would be interesting to see when you consider yourself to be "grown up". That's definitely something I'm looking forward to you saying. lol
So, after answering the questions, are you going to stop being a pansy?!! lol
The what's your story question is a trick question to answer b/c if you really think about it, you could go on & on forever!
Everyone has many things in their past that make them who they are. I sure am no exception to that. The purpose of the question is to summarize what makes you, YOU! I'd say you hit that right on the spot. ;)
I too think that we act that way; the sappy thing, because of how our parents were with us. My parents were like yours... I don't think we've ever said I love you to each other. LOL. C'est la vie dans ma famille.
Je comprende mais c'est triste! :(
